U.S. Bank ReliaCard FAQs

Here are five (5) of the top questions we get about the ReliaCard:

Will my funds be available when I receive my card?

In some cases, especially with Unemployment benefits, you may receive your ReliaCard before the funds are loaded to the card.

Your card will be funded two to three business days after your state agency has approved your unemployment benefits claim.

ReliaCard customer service will not be able to give you an update on your unemployment benefits claims.

However, you can monitor the status of your claim and payments by checking your state’s unemployment website.

You can also call your state’s unemployment office for an update.

See the list of Unemployment office numbers by state.

Once your application for unemployment has been approved, you can get updates by enrolling in alerts to be notified via a text message or email when a deposit has been received.

Why is my ReliaCard Account blocked?

If your ReliaCard account has been blocked, here’s what you should know:

Typically, when your card is blocked, it’s for your protection.

This means that a fraud block has been placed on your account.

However, there are two ways to remove this block.

The quickest way is to use your mobile device to log in to verify.usbank.com/id.

Then, upload a picture of your government-issued ID and a selfie.

U.S Bank will verify your identity and remove the block within one to two business days.

You may also remove the block on the cardholder website.

Click here to be taken there.

Once there, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your ReliaCard account at usbankreliacard.com.
    2. Next, Select Document Upload under Quick Links.
    3. Select Account Restriction – Need Additional Information.
    4. Select Begin.
    5. Upload all of the required documents listed in the instructions.

Please note: It may take up to five business days to unlock your account by uploading your documents via the cardholder website.

Can I make my mortgage or rent payment with my ReliaCard?

Yes. You can pay your mortgage, rent or other bills with your ReliaCard.

To set up a bill payment, follow the steps below

First, log into your ReliaCard account at usbankreliacard.com.

Next, go to the top navigation bar and choose Manage Money.

Third, choose Pay Bills.

Next, select the company (the payee) you want to pay from the payee list.

If you can’t find the company, you can manually enter the payee name by selecting Add a Payee.

Fifth, Enter the amount you want to pay and select the payment date.

Lastly, Select the Review and Pay button.

Where can I locate the ReliaCard routing and an account number?

Unfortunately, ReliaCard does not come with a routing number or account number.

That is because only the issuing agency can load funds to your ReliaCard.

Therefore, since you cannot add additional funds to your ReliaCard, there is no need for the routing number or account number.

I received a 1099-form even though I did not apply for unemployment benefits. What should I do?

If you received a 1099-form and did not apply or claim unemployment benefits, here’s what you need to do:

First, call your state’s unemployment agency to report a fraudulent claim.

You may be a victim of identity theft.

Follow their instructions for reporting the invalid 1099-G form.

Also, if you also received a ReliaCard, fill out this form to close your debit card.

Furthermore, you may also consider placing a fraud alert with the consumer credit bureaus.

This is a free service that you can initiate online at annualcreditreport.com or by contacting any one of the credit bureaus:

Equifax: 800-525-6285
Experian: 888-397-3742
TransUnion: 800-680-7289
